Re: Neandertal Lives !!
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/7794447/Neanderthal-man-was-living-in-Britain-40000-years-earlier-than-thought.html This is a decent article but when one gets to the paragraph that states Neanderthals had no shelter, anyone in this forum should know that is just Ignorant CRAP. We now know tha...

Re: Neandertal Lives !!
Digit - I really doubt it but no one knows right now. Unfortunately, there are some ugly discussions going on in some forums, which I don't frequent anyway. But now: http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/328/5979/710 Here is the study, being distributed everywhere I guess. It's a lot to chew on...

Re: Neandertal Lives !!
It's been obvious to a lot of people dig, but the other side is not taking this lying down. We'll hear from them soon. So if they interbred with HNS in the Levant why not with HE in Asia! Those sorts of questions are being asked by scientists and laymen alike. A lot more info will be coming out over...

I been reading Mathilda forever. She has never pulled any punches about what she thought. She has been celebrating these last few days.

of them.

Re: Neandertal Lives !!
http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2010/05/06/2295639.aspx Another article on the HNS genome. Tattersall has been a long time OOA Neanderthal hater. He has been an architect of everything the club has said about HNS in the way of being an ignorant brute. Now he seems to be saying that he knew th...

Neandertal Lives !!
http://johnhawks.net/weblog/reviews/neandertals/neandertal_dna/neandertals-live-genome-sequencing-2010.html It's finally here. Paabo et al have finished their work and John Hawks has just wrote the longest blog of his life. In short, the study shows that between 1 to 4% of our genome is Neandertal. ...

Neanderthal in Milwaukee
http://johnhawks.net/node/2581 Sure wish I could be there. The news coming out about Neanderthals is pretty much what we have thought for a long time. Hawks has felt the same way but will be speaking out about it in 3 days. OTOH. as Min would say, The backlash from the Club will be terrible. Expect ...

I can't get it to come up either, although I got it yesterday via email.

Here is Hawks on the same subject, and says the same thing as the article I tried to post.

Re: Hobbit is NOT a separate species
That would be great Dig, but there is nothing outside of the Ling Bua cave that gives us an inkling. Researchers are looking at outlying populations on nearby islands and find that the only similarity is the very short stature that one might expect with isolated islands. But that doesn't explain the...
