Re: Egyptian Glyphs in Australia???

That's my point. There appear to be too many consistencies with what is known now that wasn't known then . Frankly I doubt that there were more than 4 people in Australia 100 years ago with the requisite knowledge to even attempt a hoax. If that's not enough, some (at least) of what they knew was wr...

Re: Um....Say What?

The name "Marsupial Lion" is not meant to indicate any genetic relationship with lions on other continents. The term "Lion" is used because of the large slicing teeth in the mouth. Easily seen in the Naracoorte fossils here; http://www.naturalworlds.org/thylacoleo/discovery/feedi...

Re: Egyptian Glyphs in Australia???

Hi peoples. It's been a while. I wouldn't be too quick to call hoax on this. The site has been known for 100 years plus. So to be a hoax you need a person reasonably fluent in archaic hieroglyphs living in Australia in the 1890s (at the latest). You need that person to go bush and find a cleft in th...

I'll wait to read their published results but I'm skeptical. The largest bang in known history and all it produces is 1 low velocity impact crater?

Besides, as I said, Lake Cheko was known to the locals before the event.

Firstly a belated Merry Christmas to all. The total surface area of planet Earth is over 500,000,000 sq km, so the chances of a direct hit on any one person, even with a 1 sq km asteroid, are over five hundred million to one against. Of course a strike by a 1 sq km meteor would be an extinction leve...

The team believes that, contrary to previous studies, nearby Lake Cheko is only one century old and 'If the body was an asteroid, a surviving fragment may be buried beneath the lake. Pity the "previous studies" include the eyewitness accounts gathered by Leonid Kulik and some of them ment...

Did anyone see this?

I was searching the "Onion" archives for a different article and came across this. AL JIZAH, EGYPT—A team of British and Egyptian archaeologists made a stunning discovery Monday, unearthing several intact specimens of "skeleton people"—skinless, organless humans who populated the...

If it wasn't for the west much of what he exhibits, or wants returned, would have been lost to posterity.
Like the Apis Bulls perhaps?
Perhaps he should study some more recent history.
Perhaps he has.

Firstly, sorry for the reply delay, but we're very busy at work at the moment. Marduk. Thanks Beagle. I'm aware that there isn't any pseudoscience here, but I'm also aware it's discussed dispassionately here. (You did start a book review of Chariots of the Gods, did you not? ) Being dispassionate is important because it allows you view facts and consider evidence without a prec...
