Re: A Maya Diaspora
Was thinking about this a little more this morning. There was a massive trade network across most of Mexico at least by the 15th century, and most likely earlier. Say you've got Town A in the far east, Town B in the centre at about 500 miles distance, Town C in the far west, about another 500 miles ...

Re: A Maya Diaspora
Archaeologists have found southwestern turquois in mosaics at Chichen Itza and Mayan chocolate residue in drinking cups at Chaco Canyon. Would not simple commerce be a more rational explanation? I personally have not yet come across a mention of this which didn't give an entirely convincing account...

Re: What Happened to Charlie Hatchett?
He left after a certain gentleman overstepped the mark with some comments WA. Greatly missed. Roy. Yes, I recall that exchange. Just a shame that it drove him away seemingly for good. I remember the pictures of what he believed may have been some sort of pit used for smelting metals and I'd love to...

What Happened to Charlie Hatchett?
Seeing as I'm just down the road from him now, and I remember being impressed by some of the stuff he was digging up as of a couple of years ago, I've been wondering about Charlie. He still has his Texas music website, but didn't respond to a hey, remember me? email I sent to that address. I just lo...

Re: BP.
I've become hugely sceptical of the whole business, Dig. Last Christmas I had a random blood test and was called in by my doctor who had already started frothing over what sort of drugs I might be prescribed before I was even fully cognizant with the "problem". I had the blood pressure and...

Oh well... whilst we're all here, not so witty, maybe a bit more direct:
Seen here in San Antonio. Made me chuckle anyway, like the five year old that I am.

Hmmm. See what you mean.
Maybe people arrived in the East by circling the globe seven or eight times in a longitudinal direction until they ended up wherever they wanted to go.

Re: Some people just need to shut up....and go away....
If Doctor Who has taught us anything it is that if you drill deep enough, you unleash intelligent gas that converts people into bestial werewolf type creatures. But they didn't drill everywhere, did they? i'll bet the gas on the other side of the planet converts people into vampires. Hmmm. Clearly ...

Re: Some people just need to shut up....and go away....
Some trillions of cubic ft of shale gas have been located in and around Blackpool by drilling test wells. Blackpool has since suffered a number of small Earth tremors. Coincidence? But wait, similar in Switzerland and drilling halted! Roy. If Doctor Who has taught us anything it is that if you dril...

Re: Stripey
I too enjoyed reading about your adventures with Stripey! You evoked some very fond childhood memories! We used to play with an unusual type of lizard... It's really too bad that you're not likely to see what we called a "Horny Toad" when we were growing up. I think that it is more correc...
