Looks like they have just made a similiar discovery in the Chichen Itza area. Some pre-Maya paintings and some cave paintings of a date after the Spanish arrived in the same cave. Evidently there will be some photos in the next few days.

You're right nothing worse than a mouthy mouse.

Worse yet consider their confusion millenia down the road trying to figure out when, if and how they diverged from common lab mice.

Did you notice that in the Nicholas Wade article that the mice that were implanted with the Fox2 gene developed new neuronal circuits in the brain and made different sorts of vocalizations than reg. mice. I would guess something like "Bring me a beer and some Stilton"
