Re: Dead Sea Scrolls
Thing is that if they ever do find out who wrote them, there will be one person who will disagree. I think bring Simon Gibson in was kind of weird because he considers himself the authority on everything (as in fruitcake.)

Re: Dead Sea Scrolls
It was just more of the some old stuff, kept waiting for them to come up with something that hasn't already been said.

Re: Dead Sea Scrolls
There's a special on Nat Geo coming up on July 27 about the DSS hosted by Robert Cargill. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/writing-the-dead-sea-scrolls-5179/Photos#tab-Photos/0 In spite of Cargill's desire to settle the question of authorship I doubt he will manage it. Should be intere...

A bird with teeth? Since they say that birds evolved out of flying dinosaurs millions of years ago, guess this little guy is a regression or maybe de-evolving.

Re: Ancient Skeleton May Shed Light on Human Evolution
That the book is biased against Christianity. It has been interpeted differently by different people. Seems that Christianity is the only religion mentioned in the book and some felt that it should have included other religions that believe in the one Creator myth. It's only one sentence in the whol...

Christianity is largely made up of pagan DNA.

Re: Ancient Skeleton May Shed Light on Human Evolution
Ya'll need to be here in this lovely city where the school board is about to be sued because of a single sentence in the biology book to be used by the senior high honors biology class. The sentence casually mentions something about biblical myths and a couple of parents are having a fit. The school...

Re: Ancient Skeleton May Shed Light on Human Evolution
And the "Creationists" will have a field day. They will use anything to shout about how "evolutionists" will call anything a link, and this is just one more.

Re: No milk or cheese
Take a look at the map Leona... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactose_intolerance ....there appears to be little relationship between lactose intolerance and cattle raising there. Roy. Thanks for the link, Dig. I found the table very interesting, still trying to figur out how they came up with such ...

Re: No milk or cheese
Could it be that Native Americans evolved into being lactose intolerant because they had no domesticated dairy animals? I sure wouldn't want to try to milk a bison or mountain goat, even if I could catch one . Once they were weaned from mother's milk that was the end of it.

Re: Cloth-Clad Clovis
What does that have to do with evolution, which has museums full of evidence to sustain it? We understand that some groups will cling to theories long after evidence discrediting them has been amassed. Evolution suffers from no such problem. (Unless you want to start using the Creation Institute as...

Re: Cloth-Clad Clovis
Darwin's 'theory' is possibly the most tested scientific theory ever. Yep! And still people refuse to 'believe' it! Roy. That's because the guys in the pulpit keep shouting the same old crap that was laid down 1700 (+/-) years ago. I know I live right smack dab in the middle of the Bible-belt. Kids...

Re: Cloth-Clad Clovis
How long would a mammoth last just lying there exposed on top of the ground, without being "fash-frozen?" I doubt that we would find them in all their glory after a couple of years much less 10,000. Sorry the only fossils I have seen in person were those dug out of the La Brea Tar Pits, an...

Re: Cloth-Clad Clovis
My bad, I was under the impression we were talking about man-made objects. You know, the kind of stuff that just gets disgarded after its usefulness has past. In order for something like that to survive it would have to have been covered quite heavily and quickly in order to keep the oxygen away and...

Re: Cloth-Clad Clovis
Hadn't realized so much technology was lost after Clovis. Is there any evidence of bow and arrow technology at clovis sites? Points better suited to arrows than darts? I know B & A technology is supposed to be about only 10,000 yo or so old, and only showed up in the new world 2500 - 3000 years...
