Re: Truly humongous megaliths in Russia

For a number of years I lived near to what certain explorers and others confidently assured everyone were "ruined castles". The fact that they were in a virtual desert and the native peoples were neolithic nomads didn't phase anyone.

Good to hear you are such an authority on Sharia law.

You must give a lecture to Sheik Hasin - everyone seems to think she is in charge.

I would argue that the term obscures rathers than helps the less informed.

Silly comparisons are rarely of any value.

Shooting the ordinary people trying to protect tourists and then calling them terrorists so the government can get a good body count isn't a great idea either.

Re: Interesting Find in Israel

Unfortunately archaeology in Israel has been deeply compromised by far right PC in which the events mentioned in the Torah are taken as fact.

Modern ethnic politics are all important and any interpretations that gainsay them are not permitted. The JP is quite notorious for this.

Re: Halley's Comet --> Famine

It is certainly nonsense to suggest Mohenjo-Daro was "destroyed" by a mass explosion - ditto Scotland.

And since we have few records from the period it is folly to assert epoch changing famine or plague wiped out Western Europe in the 6th century.
