Re: Himalayan ice melt estimates get a major downsizing
Glaciers retreating Min, that does not mean that they are not gaining mass. They probably aren't, but glaciers melting ignores precipitation, which is one reason why melt flow measurements are useless. There are several hundred thousand glaciers on the planet, and if I recall correctly only a couple...

Re: Himalayan ice melt estimates get a major downsizing
Before anyone jumps on any bandwagon on this data it is worth looking at within context. The first point is that this seems to be an effective method of measuring ice volumes, the differences between it and previous 'guesstimates' tell us that we can not rely on the previous data. That means any val...

The wisdom of age.
A female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time. To check it out, she went to the Wall, and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site. She watched him pray, and after about 45 ...

Re: Neanderthals & Red Ochre
That's why I put ownership in inverted commas Min. Trade did eventually occur in Europe, thus it had to have a begining, and trade can only work where there are shortages somewhere and a surplus elsewhere. If the Ochre of site X is found in site A either it was collected from X or delivered to A, co...

Re: Neanderthals & Red Ochre
I was gonna raise the same point kb 'cos I see it this way. Red Ochre would appear to be a valuable resource, therefore who ever occupied the site would logically claim 'ownership' of some kind. This brings us back to trade.

Re: They Did Build Them Pretty....
Apparently the ship was on a 'fly past' with all gun ports open, including the lower ones, which normally housed the heavier weapons. As she heeled into a turn water flooded into through the ports. The gun decks were open from end to end. Gun ports, when not in use, were normally sealed shut by caul...

Re: CO2 Not!
I agree, trouble is they won't admit that.I believe that meteorologists and climatologists don't know what is going to occur or when it, whatever "it" is, will occur.
