I suspect that the history of fire use will extend further back than that as well, much further.
I note they state 'fire use', no suggestion of fire starting, once man scavanged the fire line of a bush fire for cooked meat then fire use was inevitable I think.

Yep! The spears were even 'weighted' as per the modern ones. As regards the stone technology bit, one thing so often ignored is, 'fit for purpose.' Which suggests that the original inhabitants were, as suggested by the Chinese, Erectus, there not having been time for them to be variants of HSS.
