Re: Andrew Collins on Gobekli Tepe sister site
Yes the frieze and the villa are well known as is the approximate date of the build of the villa . That is why we can say " " the first example we have of the Cross being used as a major symbol" is wrong . Any cross from christian period can't possibly be " the first example we h...

Re: Andrew Collins on Gobekli Tepe sister site
Yes it was clear that you were talking about the Roman Villa at Lullingstone .
That is why " the first example we have of the Cross being used as a major symbol" is wrong because it provides a date for the cross .

Re: Andrew Collins on Gobekli Tepe sister site
Any cross that predates christ obviously couldn't be described as a christian cross , but it wasn't described as christian cross . The description was " the first example we have of the Cross being used as a major symbol" . Maybe the definite article lends more weight in a christian contex...

" But in terms of the late Roman Empire. .... But the BM presenter seemed fairly firm ."
The BM presenter should have have mentioned that he was confining the symbol to the Roman period , or maybe he was unaware of earlier uses of the symbol .

" The adena were stated to be of medium height "with the males standing 5'6" and the females 5'2" P 265 has a diagram of the stature of " Mr &Mrs Adena " 165 & 158.8cm respectively The Hopewell were considered taller , by an inch . Later edition Griffin foreword...

Re: Andrew Collins on Gobekli Tepe sister site
Considering the huge number of potential "points" at GT , the gullible can convince themselves of the intention of any "alignment " that suits their fantasy . The same applies to any monument with enough points e.g. timber circles , stone circles . 1)Where is the evidence for 2 c...

As ever a complete failure to respond to the highlighting of your multiple errors ,and by evading them and coming up with non sequiturs and red herrings you only manage to make further errors .

Yet again you are showing your ignorance , on more than one level . You have been told often enough . Here goes yet again. "The component henge in Stonehenge probably comes from Old English “hencg “ = hinge or hencen =hang or gallows . " Note ,that it is not henge . "The term Henge wa...

Re: Solar alignments in ancient Egypt
What I refer to as a henge is the commonly accepted definition of the monument type used worldwide . It doesn't matter what you call a henge , nobody will pay attention to someone who knows nothing about the subject and makes up his own definitions to cover his ignorance and inability to face the fa...

[ The problem is that you are confused . First you thought that Awad's thinking was "very important " then didn't respond to the problems inherent in that thinking . You then changed tack to wonder "did the alignments of major structures within a nome bear some relation to "its&q...

Re: Solar alignments in ancient Egypt
Could the assignation of different constellations to different nomes explain the different solar alignments of the temples found in those different nomes? When a monument is oriented towards a solar event on the horizon like a solstice or equinox we assume can assume a possible alignment . But if i...
