In a private post to War Arrow I confessed to near zero knowledge on pre-Columbian societies despite an interest spanning 50 years, (his GP says he will recover), but unless you can travel to various sites we are all controlled by what we can learn fom the various media. In the UK it seems current e...

Anything on the pre-Columbian states would be an improvement in UK culture, even if the programme is rubbish it MIGHT just fire some interest in some members of the public. I have to agree with one of the earlier posts about his waiting 20 years to find fellow enthusiasts, that alone tells us someth...

Being raised in a Jewish community I have always understood that the prohibition on pig flesh was entirely based on the idea of community health, as was the requirement for destroying cooking vessels every so often. But the Israelites were/are not the only peoples to have given health matters legal/...

I don't know if I should quote the Bible with Min in the loop, but as far as I can remember Jerusalem was a Caananite city, and stood long before the Israelites got there. Shalom.

MH Thanks for that report. Now if I'd studied palaeontology at Uni as I had wanted to I could be world famous by now!!! I've argued the viewpoint for years that the sudden flowering of art etc could most easily be explained by the interbreeding of two or more sub-species of Homo. As you can see in t...

My thanks to both Cognito and Beagle. Having just joined this forum I'm beginning to feel like a Biblical prophet. I live in a rather remote part of the UK and until I found this site I had no one I could dicuss these things with and I've got half a centuary of dicussions to catch up with, you have ...

I don't believe it! It's taken me 50 years to find someone who holds a similar view to myself. I was once asked not to attend any further lectures at a London venue because my views were seen as heretical. But I fear the proof may be more difficult to find than you fear, a report I saw some months a...

A birth defect would not be transferable to any offspring, a mutation could be. But as the animal is apparently deceased, short of a DNA analysis we'll never know, making this discussion rather pointless don't you think?

Jacobovici

Jacobovici might be wrong, but the fact that we are here shows that he causes debate, and that's good. After all, Fred Hoyle was wrong about the Steady State theory, but proving him wrong advanced our knowledge.
