Re: This is something else allright!
We heard an owl killing a rabbit one night. It wasn't pretty to listen to. I once heard a rabbit put out a blood-curdling scream as it died. It literally chilled me as I never realized rabbits could be so pitiful sounding. Another time, I too experienced an owl killing something in the middle of ni...

Re: K-T event did NOT wipe out dinos
...EXACTLY! And that's why NASA's abysmal performance in taking on their responsibilities here is so frustrating, annoying, angering.... etc. Perhaps, but where to look. There are well over 50,000 square degrees of sky to survey and for early warning the targets are extremely faint. It requires tim...

Re: K-T event did NOT wipe out dinos
NASA conducted two missions which could be precursors to intercepting potential impactors, although they had other scientific objectives. The first was NEAR-Shoemaker which successfully orbited then touched down on Eros (asteroid) in 2001. The second was Deep Impact in 2005, in which NASA crashed a ...

Re: K-T event did NOT wipe out dinos
Specifying the odds of particular hypothetical impacts has very little meaning. Impact odds can only be assessed when an object is detected and its trajectory calculated. Otherwise one is left with trying to predict the likelihood of an impact based on historical evidence. Given that criteria, it se...

Re: Especially for Minimalist
You won't have long to wait - the story came out last week so "next" Friday actually means "this" Friday. Paulos has some controversy swirling around him as his appointment to head of the Ethiopian church was seen as a political move. The former head is in exile, driven out by et...

Especially for Minimalist
Min - you should get some mileage out of this one. Its not "grown up" enough to post in the main forum so I put it here. http://www.adnkronos.com/IGN/Altro/?id=3.0.3437754525 Put this link into Babelfish if you don't read Italian. Basically what is says however, is at a religious conferenc...

Re: New Server
The board has been really slow the last year or so. Personally, I have been posting very infrequently though I still read people's comments if it seems interesting to me. I have too many other pressing issues going on at the moment and so other priorities have dominated my time. I am glad to see thi...

Cool. It looks like Archaeologica made a major overhaul for the better.

So that leaves us with Polycarp. You say he was a follower of John the Apostle? Well, I guess it must be true then because the 4th century spin-meister Eusebius tells us that ...despite the fact that Polycarp never even mentions John. Hmmm, somehow I don't think so. Perhaps he was a follower of Hag...

Hey ...wait up slippery boy! “While the core theologies of each have some common elements (as I have said all along)”. No you haven’t said all along! In fact, you've been saying the opposite all along ... that their core theologies are totally different! This is your first admission of such a polnt...

Regarding the historical Jesus, there is plenty of attested evidence he existed, though scholars can debate ad infinitum about whether all of the accounts given about his life are completely accurate. But what they fail to realise is that a a real, historical Jesus who died on the cross for our sins...

It does when the meaning is plain and undistorted as in when Jesus says plainly that man will be judged by his works or when he says that the law wil not change one jot or tittle Very rarely was Jesus so plain and this was not one of them as I have already shown. Considering that Pythagorus existed...

My evidence consisted of direct quotes in context which you tried desperately to change the meaning of and explain away. Let me remind you seeker, a single quote of of a single sentence, hardly contitutes evidence in context. There was no context, only your interpretation. In fact your desperation ...
