I got to thinking about writing and scripts and what not. It occurred to me that there were no Old Testament papyri or other papyri from that time or place. Am I right?

Thank you.
I can't say I've ever heard it mentioned in all my extensive and intimate dealings and experience over the years with the US (ie movies and TV).

John: Thanks for the link to audio. I am particularly interested in why historians opted for the traditional date in the first place and whether this new research can challenge it.

Some little time ago there was a TV series about a supermarket worker who got to No. 10 on a simple but profound message: "I will never lie to you." Now, I'm as skeptical and suspicious of politicians as anybody (even you Min) and I've watched them come and go on the wearisome treadmill of...

Caesar's British Invasion

This story first surfaced in July.: http://www.livescience.com/history/081101-nhm-julius-caesar.html I've been trying to establish exactly how the authors did their calculations for their proposed dates. Those blighters at Sky and Telescope are only giving away the abstract which is no use at all. I...

Wakey, wakey America and congratulations. This is a great day for democracy, for the good ol' US of A, for Europe, for the world, for our planetary system, for the universe, for God...Oh God, there must be more...I haven't finished yet...I can't finish yet...there is so much to say without repeating...

On a serious note. This election is about as important over here as it is for you. Whatever happens the nightmare of the last eight years is coming to an end. I said good riddance to Tony Blair when he quit office and I'll echo that sentiment for your great leader. We are well shot of both of them.

Would anyone in the media have paid much attention to a press release which said "we found a few lines of proto-Canaanite script?" They are all at it. You will have noted the recent news item about a Trojan War type weapon found in Bulgaria. Where is Perperikon anyway? I've never heard of...

Golly, gosh...we are in and out in 15 seconds and it still seems too long.

Ish: Thank you for answering my question. I had already checked out your other reference (the link) and being reluctant to sit for an hour watching the video I wandered through the website trying to get some kind of handle on what they were proposing. From what I could make out they are, amongst oth...

Ish: I just don't understand your reply. Your philosophy of knowledge/life, the scope, purpose or relevance of these forums is not at issue here, at least not for me. I simply wanted to know where in your Nasa quote it says anything about holding the earth in place? Goodness me, I didn't want a lect...

Sorry Ish, it was meant to be a witty withdrawal (another withdrawal, boring or what?). Min seemed to get it, though.

OK, I promise I'm going to get out BUT you have opened the door even wider. Show me where in your Nasa quote it says anything about holding the earth in place?
