Re: fired pottery

Which is based on the assumption that H/G groups were always on the move, but is that so? With a low population and a rich enough area, would they keep moving? I doubt it. Roy. They may have taken many hunting or trading trips though the year...especially in Summer, but even without agriculture it ...

but this was apparently the talk of an anarchist and dangerous radical. That is the opinion of the pharmaceutical industry which supplies doctors with all sorts of incentives to get you taking their pills. I'm really not sure what the technical difference is between them and a street pusher. The sh...

But they didn't drill everywhere, did they? i'll bet the gas on the other side of the planet converts people into vampires.

Well, do the Inuit and other Polar tribes have shorter intestines than the rest of us? i guess that may not work since the Polar adaptation is probably too recent genetically speaking.

Re: Homo Erectus - The Galloping Gourmet

Well, we really are talking about several different things here. When i jumped in, i was responding to your comment: Gorillas are vegetarians and spend much of their day eating, their paunch is due to their having a digestive tract adapted to a vegetarian, raw diet. If you tried it you would probabl...

Wow, you guys are lucky. We barely had any 100 degree days this year. i was bummed to have such a mild summer. Especially since i made two trips back East and had to deal with that nasty humidity stuff. i had almost forgotten it existed.

Re: Homo Erectus - The Galloping Gourmet

i understand that, but how often do we read of science finally catching up to medicine or technology from the, sometimes ancient, past? The Euro-centric view that "science" took in the 19th century dismissed nearly everything that they didn't have the means to prove. It's still going to ta...

Vegans who don't get enough protein or iron are simply doing it wrong. There are a great many non-animal foods high in protein. A vegan knows this, but many people just like to be trendy and don't do the research. Digit, those articles were interesting. i've read similar stuff many times before, but...

Digit, the raw food movement has many thousands of adherents. It is possible to be healthy eating all or nearly all raw foods. Like many other nutritional philosophies, it simply takes more change than most people are willing to do.

Hawks has a really good angle on this issue. http://johnhawks.net/weblog/reviews/archaeology/lower/acheulean-lepre-kokiselei-2011.html Particularly, i liked his point about the Acheulean industry itself. He thinks it may never have been a culture at all since Acheulean tools have been found many tho...
