Re: New species?
Often, alternative theorists tend to be skeptical if not downright antagonistic toward scientific opinion and explanations. How often do you hear them say they do not trust scientists or they feel mainstream science has an agenda. Fine. Perhaps in some cases there is a certain close-minded arrogance...

Re: Yet another discovery dying a slow death
I read a book once-fiction-about how Atlantis was in present day Antarctica. In '95 Graham Hancock claimed in "Fingerprints of the Gods" that Antartica was home to the precursor race which spawned the Olmecs, Maya, Egyptians, etc around 10,500 BC when crustal displacement (ala Hapgood's t...

Re: Giza Caves
If you guys want to give Andrew Collins and Nigel Skinner Simpson, more legitimacy than Hawass, you're throwing the baby out with the bath water. Hawass may be mainstream but Collins and Simpson are sensationalists, hell-bent on selling books. You are definitely in the wrong corner on this one.

When you were there, RC, did you find the Uspallata Pass?
Its a natural, low rising, and broad pass between Argentina and Chile.

Re: New species?
I'm not really convinced. You say there's no evidence, but there is evidence. People just don't accept it. Correct, there is no definitive proof, but many small things which point to the conclusion that there is something out there. There are a couple of good videos, the Patterson/Gimlin http://www....

Re: New species?...or not
What if they didn't die out, but went "underground"? Again, look at your map. How does a reclusive and now "underground" creature manage to stomp all over north america? No bones, no scat, no signs of dwellings or feed/forage locations; no evidence they exist whatsoever. BUT - s...

Re: New species?
It does seem that after all this time there would have been a carcass or some actual footprints found. Again, this can't be a single individual as it would have died out long ago. That means a breeding population would have to exist. Many breeding populations would have to exist. Check out these ma...

Re: Nubian hieroglyphics and Phoenician alphabet
PW, if you want to claim Nubian script predates Phoenician or other alphabets you may need to push those dates back about 1000 years or more.

Re: Neandertal's death, new theory.
According to Trinkhaus: Shanidar 2, 3, and 5 appear to have been killed by rockfalls. Shanidar 2 and 4 are generally similar to the later Shanidar Neanderthals, but they exhibit faces that are more archaic and strongly built, thereby documenting the emergence of the Neanderthals from earlier forms o...

Re: Neandertal's death, new theory.
Hi Paul-Marc, Interesting graphic of the Shanidar skull. While neanderthal may have had african features, one can not draw that conclusion from examination of the Shanidar skulls. Firstly, none of the skulls had flesh or muscle tissue so the apparent depiction of lips and nose is an illusion created...

Re: Cool Summer
It's been cool in Ohio as well. Unusually cool. Its also been very dry. I spoke with a farmer just yesterday who is very concerned about his fields burning out. As for Texas, I've been there in February and it was in the 70's (degrees F.) I loved it in comparison to an Ohio February. But I've also h...
