The Old World is a reference to those parts of Earth known to Europeans before the voyages of Christopher Columbus; it includes Europe, Asia and Africa.

Well, these things do not run on schedules. No one is going to jump the gun and write a paper that undergoes peer review until he feels he has all his ducks in a row.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Too true min. I wish that they would go to Open Access on this discovery like Lee Berger did with Homo Naledi... Many hands makes lighter work.

When a story breaks, promises a lot and then mysteriously dies away it is often an indication that it was a cod in the first place - claims exaggerated, a simple explanation found. It may be that there are no updates because they want to downplay the discovery.

Or it could be professional jealousies & clannishness, as in the long deliberately delayed publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

And what a disappointment they proved to be. Like the Fatima prophecies, much promised and it all turned out to be empty gibberish
