white stepped pyramid in Aegean

From the news page

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/ ... ek-pyramid

Maybe to serve as a daylight "lighthouse"?

And old.

Navigation aids needed in 3000 BC?

It's a fascinating site , but none of the excavators used the P word .
At the very least "P" or P shaped would have been more appropriate .

Not unlike the Henge with a timber circlei n Yorkshire , recently mentioned here .
Only the press described the monument as a "woodhenge " , the archaeos pointedly avoided that error .

Granted, none of the quotes in the article used the "P" word.
But the reporter did in the lead paragraph.

I would expect the article was passed by the site management for proofreading.

I doubt it , more than likely they would have a rough idea of what to expect , even from the grauniad .

It is a reporters career survival need.
You get a black mark by one site manger and word spreads.
Interviews and site visits denied.

It is a small club after all.
You have to play by the rules.
