New Roman and anglo-saxon settlements uncovered

Post by Simon21 »

Apparently one of the largest excavations undeertaken in the UK. Not unprecedented but more possible evidence for continuity between th eend of Roman rule and the Anglo-Saxon adventus. If there was an adventus of course and not an organised settlement process.

Wonderful to hear the old slang "bobby dazzler" being used by one excavator.

Of course it does indicate that RB might have had a bigger population than is sometimes supposed.
