Place your bets!

I'm with the hot blooded brigade!

But in the Blue Corner!

''We believe dinosaurs were most likely to be cold-blooded creatures and would have needed the warmth to keep them alive,” he said.

Does it have to be an all or nothing thing?
Couldn't some be warm and some cold?

BTW
Are birds warm or cold?

And how would that related to the ones with feathers?

It could indeed. Birds are warm blooded. Interestingly warm blood preceeds dinos.

I think I'll go with "warm" on this one too.

Too many traits in dinosaurs are bird-like. I can't see evolution going "backwards."
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

In the 160 million years that dinos dominated the earth there were tiny ones and huge ones, there were quick ones and slow ones, there were herbivores and carnivores, and there were flying, swimming and walking versions. Dinos came in just about every conceivable 'type' and 'flavor'. So I bet there were cold-blooded ones and warm-blooded ones too. Maybe even simultaneously.

Sounds entirely reasonable to me, makes me wonder why the club insists that they are cold blooded.

Why does the club do anything?

We could probably take some bets on that as well Min. There seems to be nothing so entrenched as scientific dogma.

I guess one difference between the dogmas is that scientific heretics are only burned at the stake in a figurative sense....until they are proven right.

Religions have a better reason, they are following the rule book, science doesn't even have that excuse.

I am thinking environment cannot have much to do with it.

You have warm blooded hippos living in the same rivers and lakes as cold blooded crocodiles.

It most certainly does when you reach polar latitudes.

But was latitude such a great environment changer at that time as it is now?

Granted, some impressive stuff has been found a high latitudes.
North and South.

But the climate may have been much different than it is now.

6 months of darkness and lower temps will have a significant effect on plant eaters.
