Some pictures can be enlarged - for example, host them on photobucket and run them through the editor - but there are two practical limitations. Some, if not most, photos get distorted when you try to enlarge them. Really big photos will mess up the formatting of the board anyway. In those cases we ask that you post a [url} tag instead of an [img] tag so that the photo opens in its own window.
