Get real, Beag! If I were seeking personal attention I'd post a pic of myself (like Charlie did!).
You're reaching.

As I said earlier, if you read the interchange I think it was the supernova and the unnecessary comment about the fish.
If Charlie's reaction seems over the top then it may well be that he has reasons that we are unaware of. Therefore all of us should be aware that our comments may cause offence even if not intended and stick to the safe ground and remain polite. Courtesy costs nothing!
I sicerely hope Charlie will return, this forum will not be the same without him.

I also posted a pic of myself. If a vote be taken, I think most folks would prefer that you do that. See if you can reach that R/S.

Dig - I know what you mean, but some of us have been here for a long time. It gets tedious when a new person comes in and poo-poos a new theory that they know nothing about. I know that I've gotten very burnt out on trying to explain the same thing over and over. R/S has been gone for some time - argues the math - just hasn't read the first thing about it. Of course there is nothing wrong with the math in the comet theory.

I'm feeling like toast. See you later.

A board-wide vote? On one member's personal avatar?
Did you wake up this morning at all, Beag?

Seems you really do want me banned, don't you?

Folks, Charlie chose to leave. Unfortunately his exit was done in a flash moment over an unclear disconcert. Hopefully one day he will return.

If anyone is upset or disturbed by something on this board I urge them to contact Min or me via PM. Or my direct e-mail archaeologicanews@yahoo.com.

That having been said, when choosing avatars remember that some people have young children at home or they might be accessing the site from work, so let’s try for a little decorum.

I have never censored the site or deleted posts from any one on the forum, nor do I wish to start. However, I will not tolerate personal attacks or silly arguments off topic. If you want to have a pissing contest, go outside the board.

Mich, maybe I'm misreading this but I think you'll find, as I have said before, it was the posts on supernova and the murdered animal that offended Charlie, not the pic.
Two of my family have died violent deaths at the hands of others, I say this, not in any desire for sympathy, but to point out that Charlie has had some rough times and the word murder may have struck a chord.
We none of us on this forum know the details of our readers lives and cannot therefore be certain of people's reactions to our comments and should be careful of what we say.
I see no problems with banter nor smart repartee, but beyond that we should all of us be careful as to what we say.
Marduk was, and is, an intelligent man who cannot seem the understand the affects his comments sometims had on others.
Please, do not let us go down that road again!

That won't happen.

Rest assured, Charlie did not quit over the supernova or the "murder" comments. Charlie is accustomed to scrapping with folks over ideas and ideology. He clearly posted the offense to his family by RS's avatar.

I also access from work but I have stopped doing that now because of the sensibilities of some coworkers. From my personal point of view, I think the depictions are distracting; RS thinks mine are infantile (beyond junvenile, I guess). I will just be more careful about who is around when I log in.

Exactly Monk. Marduk is reborn again!.
R/Ss comment about silly stones was unlikely to go down well either as this forum is dedicated to the study of those silly stones, not soft porn!

Well, to RS's credit, I find many of his posts interesting and worthy of this board even if I don't always agree with his conclusions. This board has always drifted but I enjoy the many diversions as well.

We all have agendas to some degree that carry over in our side discussions or even choice of avatars. At least if a discussion is not to my liking I can choose to leave the thread, but an avatar appears on every thread a person participates in. Much more difficult to navigate around if offensive.

So - back to the topic - let's see - hmmm, "Deleted".

My two cents is that the avatars have become an unnecessary distraction.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Considering your past record I'd say that is evolution!
