Approaches to identity in the European Iron Age. Integrating South-Eastern Europe into the debate
Issues of identity and ethnicity have gained much in popularity in the last two decades. A considerable number of studies have been dedicated to investigating how small and large scale solidarities were constructed and maintained and how they were reflected at the level of the individual. Archaeology has been dealing with identity, and especially with ethnicity issues, as far back as Kossinna’s time, but modern approaches are radically different, emphasising dynamic and fluid construction
