Let it hit Texas!
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

The difference between the two is, at most, marginal.

The earth will continue even if a rock puts a big dent in it. Cars keep running with dented fenders.

Hey Min! Your observation reminded me of the title of a sci-fi book I read many years ago...
I LOVE post-apocalyptic sci-fi!
Try reading Earth Abides by George R. Stewart. It's a hoot.
Of course, the major meltdown was a pandemic rather than an asteroid, but it's still entertaining.
