Sorry I've been away

and for whatever reason had a lot of trouble accessing the site.

All is well now.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

At my age you have to consider that sort of thing.

Which reminds me.....where's Digit?

I was exhausted. Helping my kid move into a new apartment.

Aside from that the weather in NY was dismal - cold, cloudy, rainy for most of the time. Glad to be back in the sunshine.

Hi Min. I had a heart attack on Sunday, totally unexpected and it damn near finished me!
Got back home about half an hour ago, very shaky I might add, but still breathing I'm glad to say.

See.... I go away for a week and the whole place goes to hell.

Rest up, Dig, I know doctors are a pain in the ass but listen to them anyway.

Feel better soon.

Dues to the fact that i was an emerency transfer from one hosptital to another I was tended by Pakistani, Indian, English, Turkish and Welsh consultants, due to shift changes as well. But the little Pakistani chap was a complete bloody know all, he would not listen!
He wanted tick box answers.
Late last week I ate what turned out to be a contaminated Pork Pie, thankfully no one else did, the cramps hid the early warning signs and this damn fool would not accept that I could not give him a pain locus and stormed off!
As I went down hill the nursing staff took it upon to themselves and ordered emergency transfer to a specialist hospital.
I was warned that I might not survive the procedure and could refuse treatment, but I agreed to proceed.
Afterwards I was transferred into the ward, where I finally managed to convince the staff that I was dangerous to others, I had the most appalling diarrhea and there were very seriously ill people on the ward.
PANIC!!!
I was immediately isolated, everything I had been in contact with was disinfected or destroyed. The ward was scrubbed out and I had a personal nurse from each shift, she gowned and gloved on entering, binning both as she left and scrubbed up.
And a complaint was sent to the other hospital that my infection was not listed on my notes.
Hopefully the little pratt wil listen in future!

See the difference between the UK health system and ours? Over here they would have pounded a cork up your ass and handed you a sponge....along with a bill for $300,000.

I found out a few minutes ago Min that a woman died March last year from the same procedure that I underwent, a contaminated probe gave her Hep B.
The report condemning the ward was published a few days ago, so I was a nasty shock for them.
My wife was phoned and warned I might not make it, a volunteer off duty amulance crew used a reserve vehicle to transfer me and I was delivered to a service entance nearest to the theatre.
What the later infection control cost I hate to think, but they were making sure they made no mistakes this time around!
