Right out of High School I spent a bit of time on the sound board of a local RR band.
No training and mostly fooling around with the egos of the guys on stage.
But I found it was amazing how you could influence the crowd with sometimes subtle changes.
Of course it is a multi million dollar science now, and I stay far away from concerts, but when I watch a concert video I can recognize the techniques.
The mechanized, so called, “Euro Beat,” that is now popular is just the modern version of what I heard in the African travel logs of my youth. With the same hypnotic effect.
Combined with lighting effects, weather lasers or bonfires, and, as all the big names know, you can put a big crowd in your palm.
