A Thunder Bay DNA expert was in New York City on Monday to discuss findings that could help researchers prove that Jesus did marry Mary Magdalene and that they had children.
Lakehead University‘s Paleo DNA Laboratory operations supervisor Renee Fratpietro joined English filmmaker Bruce Burgess in the Big Apple to discuss his film “Bloodline”, which follows a three-year investigation led by Burgess and his American producing partner, Rene Barnett, in their search for answers into the bloodline conspiracy made popular by the “Da Vinci Code”.

These are always fun for me.
Even though I believe for theological reasons that Jesus had to die childless, this branch of Christianity has always fascinated me.
So many people for so long a time with so many secrets.
The timing is right, the geography is right, the economic history background is right.
The whole European concept of the “Sacred right of Kings,” and royalty having to marry royalty.
Let him promote his film.

Supposedly they found a grave in a cave with a female skeleton that is supposed to be from Jerusalem or the area and possibly from the right time. Plus some coins and jars 'n such. Saw the conference on the web they had about a week ago. Interesting but if you ask me - - - junk.

I have to respect Dan Brown, the author of “The Da Vinci Code”
He is a novelist. Doesn’t claim to be anything other than that.
But he does his research.
Before all the flap about The Da Vinci Code I read a novel of his about computer systems and data bases. I was a good read because he had a lot of it right. There were a lot of details you had to be there or have talked to someone in depth to know about.
I knew that that because I spent too many years of my life in that world.
All the details in the Da Vinci Code book about the meaning of everyday symbols all around us, that are skipped in the movie, proves that kind of research.
He did not stretch the limits of believability the way Clive Cussler does. He was more into the “this could happen” world of Tom Clancy.
Is the Da Vinci Code history? Of course not.
Does it have a “this could have been what happened” theme?
For sure.
That is why he is now a millionaire.

Fiction or non-fiction, that was where Brown got his story. He didn't create it, he just re-wrote it. 'Edited' it, you might say. And Aunt Gertrude ate it all up.
A bit akin to Microshaft who bought a primitive, and then already outdated operating system in 1980 and still builds on it today. With great commercial success... (though finally waning now).
