Roy Kady - Navajo Weaving Exhibit at DU

Post by Johnny »

The University of Denver has been running a nice little exhibit in their museum of anthropology in Sturm Hall this month. I would've posted about it earlier but just got activated yesterday. It was originally set to close yesterday but they extended it a day due to some inclement weather here in Denver this month. If you're in town, you've got until about 4:30 to go check it out. It's one of those PLEASE TOUCH and SMELL ME type exhibits that let you really get a feel for the materials native artisans work with. I had no idea how simple some of the dyes used could be to make.

Roy's from Arizona so you Arizonites may already be familiar with him and his work. If you're not, check him out sometime. Beautiful weaving and you can tell the man is absolutely passionate about his art.
