A question to my esteemed members of this forum

Here's where you get off topic and off center....Keep it nice, keep it clean, no sniping, no flaming. After that, anything goes.

A question to my esteemed members of this forum

Post by MichelleH »

I was going to post this under mythology, but here goes: HEAVY THOUGHT ALERT!!! I was listening to a philosophical discussion (no screaming please Min! LOL) and an interesting questions was posed: "If there were no religious rules whatsoever, can an individual craft a god or belief to believe in on the individual level, keeping it truly personal, without imposing it?" Yes a bit Utopian, but just a question I am truly interested in the responses to.

You already know my opinion.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

The answer is Yes.

People LOVE to exclude others whenever possible so if you follow that line of logic you will find that there won't be much, if any, evangelizing.

I know some people who have a belief system that is totally exclusive.

They wouldn't dream of sharing their beliefs because they would run the risk that somebody else would embrace it and then it wouldn't be exclusively theirs.

I'm sorry, my responses are limited. You must ask the right question.

I think so. That is what I try to do.

I certainly keep it to myself.
