"abrupt climate change"

Yes, if what you mean by that is the entire landscape set on fire.

Now that's catastrophic climate change that is relevant!

Hi cog -

These fires extended up the cordillera.

They are what happens when either impactites fall, or there is an infra-red release in impact.

They were pretty much what the peoples who were living in those areas remember happening.

I wonder if the moderators here would allow me to vent?

The (implied) assumption that somebody's permission must be necessary for any exercise of autonomy is a SCARY one.

Wildfires can promote OC burial through the removal of vegetative cover and the facilitation of soil erosion by wind or water
Wildfires out here in the west do not require impacts.

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

The last two fires we've had in SoCal resulted from homeless building campfires to keep warm. However, there isn't a week that goes by without my seeing some brainless a-hole flicking a cigarette out the car window while driving down a desert road.
