Pointless would be the last word for much of the Bible .

Tell it to Zeus, and Marduk, and Osiris, and Quetzlcoatl for that matter. None of them had artifacts, either. But they did have followers once upon a time.

I could only read the article, in which the mt DNA haplogroups were not mentioned.
As we know from European data, the mt DNA haplogroups are the best evidence.
Working with Y allelles appears to be very limited , at this time.

The problem that the X2a proponents face is that Maritime Archaic culture suddenly appears
with no nearby cultural developments, at least none found to date.
They may have been submerged by rising sea levels,
but in my view that is unlikely- at least some artifacts should have shown up.
They haven't.
If you are spinning hypothesis about human DNA,
they have to agree with the archaeological evidence.
On the gross physical level, there is that height thing.
