12-sided Roman relic baffles archaeologists, spawns countless theories

As always it seems when confronted with a mystery archaeologists fall back on 'ritual object.'

The discussion of the geography strikes me as interesting. All examples found north of the Alps. That's where the Celts lived and even the Romans credited them with being superb metal workers. Perhaps the Romans just came along later and also said "what the hell are these things?"
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
