Archaeology & Islam

Post by DrDavidT »

Here is a good video on the archaeology that exposes Islam and its origins as something other than what Muslims say:

And this link talks about the lack of history supporting Mohannad

Interesting video, though I think archaeology and history can be interpreted in many ways depending on who’s doing the research. It’s always worth comparing different scholarly sources before drawing conclusions.

I'm sure if you look you will find the commentary of people doing exactly that. But remember to question their opinions also.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

I left a comment under one of the videos stating my concerns about the way they present their evidence. I find that Medina, like Nazareth, could easily exist and not be recorded in early eras. Also, I can challenge any person's existence and 'prove' that they probably did not exist. The evidence they present is good ut it has holes.

Minimalist and I have read Spencer's book on Mohammad, and if he existed at all. It is the same argument as the video presents

Islamic archaeology, a fascinating intersection, really. But can we truly separate faith from the dust of time? Perhaps the minarets whisper secrets the shovels can't unearth. Or maybe the artifacts sing of a history rewritten. I remember helping my grandmother clean out her attic; we found a box of old family letters. Deciphering the handwriting was like excavating a life, full of personal details, though it felt a bit like a Slope Game of trying to find the best path for understanding. It felt just like piecing together fragments of the past.

Believers in one faith can easily dismiss the dogma of other faiths. We atheists have it easier....we can dismiss them all.
