Yes, you are blinded by belief in that one book which prevents you from seeing anything which upsets your belief system
i could say the same for you with your zeal to disprove the Bible. all the evidence i bring means othing because it upsets your view of what happened.
he would still be the recognizable face but perhaps he simply feels that he is too old to give up the chronology he has been defending for years. Who can say?
sounds like he is just like bush, too afraid to admit a mistake. then again it does reinforce that quote i made about the female egyptologist who threatened to take her life when pellegrino wanted to revise some of the dates she defended.
kind of puts egyptology in the realm of emotional blackmail. but proves a point or two that i have made in another topic.
Why does Egyptology fear Schoch?
i don't think schoch has enough evidence to substantiate all that he believes, his book makes a good case but at times i think he stretches the link a little to get the theory to fit.
at best i can agree that the sphynx maybe built earlier than acepted but not the pyramids at this time.
all the evidence i bring means othing because it upsets your view of what happened.
You bring no evidence...you bring wishful thinking. Had archaeology stopped digging in Israel in 1920 you'd be its most ardent defender. But they kept going and now you have to bash them because they disproved your nonsense.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
that is an accusation without merit. you just don't accept the proof i have brought so your objections are baseless and useless.
But they kept going and now you have to bash them because they disproved your nonsense.
who really cares what you say, you have proven yourself to be an antagonist not a discusser so most of what you bring to the table can be and is ignored.
schoch's work relies on many factors, one being that the pyramids were built at te same time as the sphynx. that is hard to fatho since it is a pretty good guess that super-structures were not thought of till the time of Babel.

You haven't brought any evidence to support your bible-based belief system, yet. Every archaeologist you try craps out on you because they are scholars not bible-thumping morons.

I assume you do since you keep trying to make the same idiotic point over and over with no proof whatsoever. If you want to spout your bible crap do it somewhere where it will be appreciated. This is a science board and science is against you.

Still babbling, I see? [/b]

You keep talking about the Tower of Babel and have the balls to accuse others of trivializing the discussion?
You are amazing in your faith-based arrogance.

the tower of babel was mentioned in an ancient source, at least i stay on topic and use archaeology.
more than i can say for you. 'realist' was right you want your own 'club' and you want to filter the information so you only get what you want to hear. well i may be gone soon as i have said all i need to say here...
emphasis on 'may'...but this i know, you don't want discussion on religious topics nor do you want opinions that disagree with yours. your more closeminded, arrogant etc. than any believer you accuse of doing the same thing.
but i know you don't care you want to muddle around in the dark so i will let you do that, i do not need the stupidity but i will tell you this, you won't find any answers till you find faith. archaeology being limited and incomplete will not give you the answers you seek, without the Bible you will never be satisfied.
And if you say the fucking bible I will come to Korea and hunt you down!

i have een trying to keep this on topic but it seems to be sidetracked everytime you post
And if you say the fucking bible I will come to Korea and hunt you down!
i wonder why you get away with using such language and for so long, i certainly haven't insulted you nor swore at your sources. a little decorum would be nice.
yes i was thinking of the Bible as it qualifies as an ancient source.
This is exatly what is wrong with your concept of "evidence." You cannot "prove" the validity of any document by quoting from it. You need other sources to constitute that what the document says is "true." The bible isn't...for the most part....and what it does get right seems to be almost accidental.
Howard Fast wrote a novel about Spartacus. It is a novel and remains a novel in spite of the fact that Spartacus, Marcus Licinius Crassus, Gnaeus Pompey, Lucius Licinius Lucullus, and Crixus were historical personages and that there was a slave revolt against Rome in Italy in the late 70's BC. That does not mean that the book is anything but a work of fiction.
Just like your bible.

since i have done that and have had them ridiculed you get stuck with the Bible. it is always easy to dismiss somethng you do not want to believe and if you are having trouble doing that then you need to consider the fact you are being given the opportunity to change the path you are on---up to you, it is your decision. i was hoping this topic would have stayed on course but i see that people can't obey the rules here
since i have done that and have had them ridiculed you get stuck with the Bible
Bullshit. All you ever do is quote some other bible thumper who is quoting the bible. There is no archaeological or extra-biblical textual evidence to support any of the bible's theoretical 'history' prior to 1250 BC. That is why you cannot find it.
The argument among reputable archaeologists is to try to find some point in the Early Iron Age at which at least some of the history of the bible is in agreement with the artifacts which have been uncovered. Dever made a case for c. 1,000 BC; Finkelstein for c 850 BC (in Israel, not Judah) and Mazar somewhere in between them. Thomas Thompson thinks the whole thing is bullshit down into the Hellenistic era ( i.e., when Alexander the Great conquered the whole area....)
But let us be clear. There are occasional kernels of actual history in the story but the gist of it is a load of crap about some vainglorious god who demands much but delivers little. In that respect, he is like all other gods throughout history.

In light of the "leak" about Robert Schochs' thoughts on the Bosnian pyramid story, I think this thread should be revived for a short bit.
Any geologist worth his salt could have done what Schoch has done - but none did. Small wonder that I am a fan. He has put the issue to rest. About my description of it as a "leak", that is a discussion for later.

Is that a criticism of Barakat?
And I'm not sure he's put the issue to rest, did you see Merlin's post?
