Hi Cog,
Bumpin along in the Emerald Triangle, experimenting with strawbale gardens

and also trying to raise some hrumph about some scientists who bullshitted about their interest in crop circles last month, esp. Michio Kaku. Said on Fox there was to be an experiment at Stonehenge in Sept. Nothing happened. I think Michio is doing coke.

need to put this someplace else, though.

Re: Neanderthal and Human Interbreeding Accepted?
So when a forensic scientist looks at some bones and is able to tell the race of the victim that is what? A lucky guess? And watching them jumping through hoops in their attempts to avoid the word 'Race' is farcial!
Cosmetic distinctions like skin and hair color are one thing but bones are a bit harder to explain.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Hi min, Cog -Cognito wrote:E.P., with a title like "Sex and Hot Times in the Americas" you'd be on your fourth edition by now. Just takes a little storyline editing, that's all.Sex sells, E.P.
My sister told me "Man and Impact in the Americas" had no sex.
On the other hand, if some of the recent smaller impacts had of occurred anywhere near any English speaking city, instead of Norway, the Andes, and the South Pacific, then I'd have a runaway best seller, at least enough of one.
I will add that you two have your strategy off: there's more sex in cults than in money. A sioux friend asked me to watch his tipi overnight at a recent powwow, as he had had nu agers sneak in during the night and walked in on them the next morning having sex. I joked that all I needed was a sign: "Secret ancient Indian love medicine. Come into my tipi."
I got the "ancient' part down. I suppose once I get my BIA BQ dog tag, then I'll be able to handle the "ancient Indian" part under the crafts act. I could tickle visitors with a turkey feather, while reciting some chant in Sioux like "Please make this one as wealthy (or easy) as she is stupid"... or some such... Watched "The Love Guru" last night; it was a chuckle: HBP at work.
More later...

Not necessarily Min. Bone proportions seem to be the key AFAIK.A lucky guess?

Hi min -
Thanks for the laugh. I need one today.
Can I just use that, or will I have to pay you a percentage?
Problem is, even after dye, major plastic surgery, and months in a gym, I still wouldn't look like that. But then you really don't have to do any of that if you go the "cult" route.
This may not be the place for it, but the cult thing has got me going. What you do is take a really bad archaeological construct, like "moundbuilders". Then have your "moundbuilders" arriving as refugees from Atlantis, where they were given advanced technologies by ancient aliens. All you have to do next is watch some television on the "History" Channel.
You then combine that with James Jacob's geodetic theories to form Sacred Healing Grid Teachings. You can always make up a nearby grid point whenever you need it.
Since you might get immediately called for any Lakota and Dakota claim, try Paiute or Nakota, or the most obscure people you can find. Or make a people up like the Northern Colorado Yaqui; that would allow you to steal from Carlos Castenada.
Throw in world peace, and make up a compelling message from the elders, to give your followers some reason to swallow your line.
Then pull out the Turkey Feather from your re-styled cedar cigar box.
A buffalo skin would really help as well.
"Come into my tipi, free your body to Mother Earth (translated to nu age from The Love Guru), and lie on the mighty sacred buffalo's skin, which was entrusted to me by the elders of my nation."
You might think this is all my own work, but I have actually run into people doing different parts of this.
The problem is, it takes a lot of skill to lie constantly. And/Or certain delusional or psychopathic flaws.
Though it is off the topic, please don't delete this. I may have a start on a nice comedy.

Feel free, E.P. I borrowed an online Romance Novel Generator site for the deed.
The bottom line is that real archaeology is not only difficult but painstaking to the point of boring and there are a lot of people who don't like to think that hard. What they want is Indiana Jones... when they get broken pottery shards they lose all interest.
"Atlantis" does it for me. All these idiots out there looking for it as if it is real. In 373 BC when Plato was about 50 years old the Greek town of Helike slid into the Gulf of Corinth after an earthquake. The two dialogues about Atlantis were written about 15 years later. Gee. I wonder where he got his inspiration from!

Re: Neanderthal and Human Interbreeding Accepted?
Can't get much sexier than human dna studies. In fact, these two stories were censored out of my book from the 'sex and the single species' section. Was trying to make the point about the nature of human sexual exploration and curiosity, as an agent of cross-species, cross-race experimentation. A couple stories were available that made the search go way beyond dna relevancy. I really tried to make it a non-gratuitous inclusion of sex; honest. If people are doing it today, they had to be doing it back then. Imagine how they would have behaved with two-leggeds.
The first couple paragraphs set up the stories.

To nookie or not to nookie: that is the question. It is for this reason that you are warned on the first day of Physical Anthropology 101 that the world of human evolution is divided into splitters and lumpers. For some, each discovery means a new Homo species. For others, H. erectus and H. sapiens are actually the same species, separated only by race. And then there are combos in between the extremes. It is a room of mirrors and new discoveries expand the debate. One thing to keep in mind: Homos – both guys and gals – were sexually “on” all the time, 24/7/1,000,000s. Could it possibly be that at least some of our early hunting and warfare strategies grew out of guys night out on the prowl for gals, any gals?
And if this is a bit risqué for the more subdued, let’s bring it up to date. First, some background. Neil Horsley is well known to the Southern Poverty Law Center. He is “America's leading anti-abortion webmaster, the profane voice of the extreme Christian Right;” “the implacable enemy of Homosexuals who promises regularly to arrest faggots," and who “rails on about desecration, pagans, lust and perverted tolerance." The Mule Consented
Neal Horsley returned to the Alan Colmes Radio Show Thursday night to defend his history of his, er, um, fancy of a certain mule in his pre-teen life of a "normal" farm boy. It was a natural occurrence, he said, like that of a mutt that will hump everything warm and wet in sight. He maintained that he did not rape the mule. Horsley claimed that the mule consented and was a willing consultant in this match due to the fact that the mule was clearly a whore for accepting the gift of an ear of corn for the sexual act. Now if you are doing a double take on that piece of information, I should advise you, he really said it.
Mr. Horsley stated that it is logical and natural to engage in bestiality in today's world, comparing it to consenting gay sex. Mule-man sex is natural, and man-man sex is natural but not normal. He compared it to the paradigm of a dog humping a leg or anything it can find. All men are mutts when it comes to their sexuality. The mule was just a matter of convenience for him, but it was just one mule. And I'll quote Alan on this one "At least you were a monogamist."
Alan continued the question with "if it were a washing machine would you have sexual intercourse with it?"
Horsley replied, paraphrasing, "I hadn't thought about it, but I would have had sex with anything wet and warm and moved." [14] ""
In case you are still left with some romantic illusions about our sexual legacy, that perhaps Neal is that singular example that proves the rule of our sexual maturity, and that it is beyond question that our ancestors would always check first to see if an archaic prospect was the same species – yes, you – then I have hundreds of hours of video tapes for you.
"" How do you report a story about a man who dies while having sex with a horse? With a snigger? Or straight?
Last Friday, the Seattle Times got wind of an Associated Press item about a local man who died after having sex with a horse. "The sheriff's department didn't expect us to report it because it was too gruesome," said Jennifer Sullivan, the Seattle Times staff reporter ... .
The AP story ... mentioned that the man – who died of internal bleeding from anal sex with the animal – died after visiting a farm in nearby Enumclaw that attracted "a significant number of people" looking to engage in bestiality.
In her first probe, Sullivan wrote that the farm was discussed in Internet chat rooms as a "destination" spot for people looking to have sex with animals. She reported that this prompted an investigation into whether the chickens, goats and sheep on the property had also been victimized.
Although she never reported the man's name, in her second article Sullivan did say that he was 45 years old and added that he died of acute peritonitis due to the perforation of the colon.
Perhaps the most lurid detail she added, however, was that when they searched the farm, police had found hundreds of hours of videotape showing men having sex with horses. Police are still making sure that sex was not forced on the smaller, weaker animals, thus constituting animal cruelty (which is a crime).
[Of] the many emails she's received, ... [m]ost of them express sympathy to Sullivan for having to write such a horrific story and thank her for leaving out gratuitous aspects, or using phrases like "horsing around." [15] ""

Hi min -
It just occurred to me that J.K. Rowling does not look like Harry Potter.
Hi chris -
HBP it is. Your publisher had no sense. You were denied your chance for a classic, mainly due to their laziness in not finding more academic language. Hell, they could have fallen back to the old standby, using late classical latin.
The whole of the confusion in taxonomy was very irritating to me, and now I learn that physical anthropologists learn to expect that in their first day of class!
I was a space journalist, not an archaeologist, nor a physical anthropologist. Thus in the past I could blame all the errors in my book on archaeologists; now I can blame them on archaeologists AND physical anthropologists.
Thanks!

Good question, E.P. I promptly found this web site - which has a lot of crank ideas - but gives an interesting scientific summary of, well...you can see for yourself.
http://rhnegativeregistry.com/Rh_Negati ... ation.html
However, if you look at the copyright date of the article just under the title you'll see it dates from 2006..several years before the release of the Neanderthal genome project. All modern genetic DNA evidence points to an "out-of-Africa" origin for humanity. Hence, it is our view that Rh+ (Rh-positive) is the original Rh blood allele in humans, since black Africans in Africa who have not mixed either with white populations or with mixed-race persons have ONLY this Rh allele and no evidence of Rh- (Rh-negative).
Since Rh- (Rh-negative) is an allele which is found predominantly among white populations (ca. 40-45% in Europe), it must clearly be a mutation which followed after man's migrations from Africa to Europe.
How much more reasonable is the idea that HNS contributed to the process?

Found the article on straw bale gardening very interesting. I do a little gardening down here in the San Joaquin Valley, but with the Manteca Sandy Loam Soil, you just get good seeds and throw them in the garden.
Spent last week in a straw bale house in the Eastern Sierras Nevadas. Snow and air temps down to 20F, and just a couple logs in the wood stove kept the place toasty.
I have friends in the agricultrual businness up in the triangle. Just visited last month. They are also really good bakers!
