At the time and at that age and probably because of school you thought it has to be true or they wouldnt let it be published .

You think people take your posts seriously lol
This is childish and moronic , I have no interest in swapping insults with you and from now on will not respond to any of your posts .
I am here to debate and learn and will continue to do so , from serious posters.

Quite frankly, some of us would love to seriously discuss some real archaeology and paleoanthropology here, but do not have time to weed through the crap. We are busy professionals, with real day jobs. I am a cognitive neuroscientist with interests in human brain development, and my friend JulieB is trained in paleoethnobotany, interested in talking to any and all about the early development of agriculture in the Americas. She is now a lawyer, but has not lost her interest in her "true love". You want some expert information about carbon dating? Ask JulieB.
you know if i thought that this post was real i would have a few words for the poster. but instead i have a question or two; 1.why would a neuroscientist and a lawyer even consider posting on this board? 2. if that is really true then why would they even take the time let alone have the time to post such statements that undermine any credibility before they even start here?

here is what you sound like:

1. a two year old
2. a spoiled child
3. a blackmailer
4. a extortionist

all of which shows that you have no respect for the board nor the owner of same who has set her rules as is her freedom to do so. to hold your knowledge back until you have the conditions you want shows such pettiness that anything you have to say now is just worthless. for at anytime something doesn't go your way, you will withhold such participation till or leave for good/

i feel sorry for whoever wrote that post.
MichelleH, Frank Harrist, I submit to you that this post by "archaeologist" is sufficient evidence of a direct personal attack to warrant action. What say you?

I would certainly love to hear from her on what is obviously a highly technical subject, Forester.

Of course, I can also see why she would avoid Fundi bushwhacking like the plague, too.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

amazing, that wasn't a personal attack at all. your post just confirms what i wrote. if you can defend your position then why are you worried about a couple of religious guys who have no power here but the words they use?

if your ways and thoughts were true, then you should have no problem in presenting what you believe and accept. so my question to you is: why are you trying to manipulate the membership of this board?

then, why would you be afraid to be questioned by those who have a different viewpoint than you?

i have put up with 8 months of all kinds of attacks, slander, innuendo and so on, yet i have been able to defend my position. what does it say when the opposing side won't even participate when there are dissenting opinions?

you want respect from me or other christians then pay your dues. the only person here (this is not including michelle) that i can come close to respecting is minimalist. even though his discussion ability leaves much to be desired, he is at least brave enough to engage someone with a different opinion.

everyone else lasts a post or two (if they decide to participate) then they stop. that raises another question in my mind, why are you so afraid of defending what you believe? do you believe your side is that weak that it can't withstand questioning?
i am never going to agree with what you present as evidence, because it doesn't add up, but that is life. not everyone is going to believe what you say. i know. i have tried for 8 months

i have no problems with you or anyone coming in here and participating but i do have a problem when those people make conditions that affect me and they are not even owners of the board let alone regulars.

i am glad i am leaving soon, though i enjoy discussing topics with those that don't believe, as i learn from those encounters, i need a break from the day to day grind and name-calling. plus my patience is wearing thin and i would like to leave before i say the wrong thing, in their minds, once too often.

i have enjoyed my run here and now it is time to cut back my participation as i prepare to leave. (you spoke to soon).

I would like to thank Starflower, Tech and Stan for your very kind PM's to me since last night's train wreck.

I would further like to apologise to Beagle for over-reacting to his questioning of my purpose on this board. I assure you that I am not in cahoots with GV to make him look good. Browse over my debates with him and I would hope you find sufficient evidence of this.

Just to be sure there are no misunderstandings about me. I am NOT a professional archaeologist. I actually work for an insurance company in the IT department. What I am, as I hoped my screen name would convey, is an old geezer (51 years old to be exact) who has had a lifelong passion for the past but didn't do the schooling when I was young to pursue it at that time. I went back to school just last year, have completed two introductory courses and am working on a year 2 Greek Archaeology course this fall. I dug in Florida, just for a day in 2005, and in Bermuda for 8 days in 2006. All being well I will return for another dig in Bermuda this coming February. But I am not a professional and unfortunately probably never will be. At the rate I can take courses I'll be retired before I get enough credits to graduate.

I regret storming off in a huff and would like to continue my participation on the board, with the promise I will work very hard to restrain my basic nature when it comes to certain kinds of posts.

Thank you again for the kind words in the PMs. I really appreciate it.

Cheers

Jim
