Didn't you know that?
no I didn't
because its not true
When a Sperm Whale dies, its internal organs rot, until the animal becomes little more than a semi-liquid mass trapped inside the skin. In this case, the skin will eventually burst, causing the internal mass to float free and eventually wash up on the beach
from the link i advised you to read already
thats it Roy
you are objecting to this because youre ignorant
every post and every statement you have made so far has been incorrect
take it outside my man
and stop wasting everybodies time

you still haven't produced any evidence of hunting Sperm whales with a trident.

Unless one was hunting very small whales, I'd think you'd need something that penetrates a bit deeper, Digit.

Alright, FM ... it's you and I ... let's go whale riding! :D (do you think we can get a parasail up there also while we're at it? I'd like to jump off before that sucker submerges. First one back to the village wins!

So unlike the the Bow Head, Humpback, and Right whale, the Sperm whale does not rise to the surface as it decomposes, so a sunken Sperm whale is a lost whale then, would that be why the whalers fill them with gas then?
Out of curiosity is every one who disagrees with you ignorant?
Are you never wrong?
I'm still waitng for the trident versus Sperm whale evidence as well, comes of being ignorant I imagine.

If you read back a bit Min, to before Marduk started getting rude, you'll find I pointed that out and explained that whaling from open boats was done with a lance to puncture the lungs and heart. The harpoons are simply to recover the beast. He won't be told though, apparently I'm ignorant because I don't agree with him. Oh dear!

suggest you blow the cobwebs out from between your easra and go back and read the last three pages of this thread again
you might learn something
dead sperm whales float Roy
did you hear that
they float
and the method used to hunt them didn't kill them until they washed up on the beach
did you hear that
testing
testing
so its fecking irrelevant wether or not they float when theyre dead anyway
yes you are a very very ignorant man
you can't understand english
you can't operate google
you don't know anything about whale biology and yet you think you're some kind of authority

you been in wales too long boyo (pun intended)

That was months ago
yes i believe i can narrow it down to the second that beagle welcomed me to this forum by calling me dishonest because I post at Maat
did you know Charlie is also dishonest
he posts at Maat too
Digit isn't though
he probably couldn't find maat
and if he did hed probably say that it wouldnt float
or that its skin was too tough
or that it had too much blubber
or that there is no evidence that anyone ever stood on maat
or some such nonsense
take the point yet Roy ?
you though Min
you're just paranoid
did I miss it?
yes
twice

The use of the trident is as old as civilization. There are murals, tiles, and paintings in Egypt, Sumeria, and Minoa, etc. that demonstrate it's use.

It is used with a net. The net has sink rocks attached to it. Net the fish and gig it. Simple. Sometimes those net stones are mistaken for ornaments.
Jumping on a whale is speculation gone wild!
Good point, Beag.

I remember when I first started finding these, I thought they were pendants on steroids:

These are chert nodules, with holes drilled in them. Note they're heavily coated with carbonate. 8)
