He should have used a boat.
In fact the River was the boundary between the Saxons and the Danes for years as it was so difficult to cross. But of no relevance as the river has changed its course at least once in the Middle ages, leaving at least one port high and dry.
Apart from demonstrating there are more retards than just those who live in Holland I seem to be missing the point as there is still no shred of evidence of shallow water to the Andamans or Oz in historical times.
