That looks like a fire.

A campfire I can see because that is kept going for a while but a brush fire burns up the availabe fuel and moves on...spectacularly quickly in some cases.

Wouldn't this indicate that the charring occured over a long period of time rather than in a short duration fire as one duing an invasion would be. For instance a fire pit which is used season after season....... 8)

Ok I have another dumb question, this time regarding dates..... I don't recall the dates of the clovis period (and am too lazy to look it up right now) but it seems to me that it was quite a long time before the iron age. so how could there be pre-clovis iron works? or am I way wrong about the dates of the clovis period? (very possible) 8)
