This thing is crazy Min, but it's running again. I'm at 19%.

I know. Charlie reported that he had received 17% even though my window shows that it hadn't even started sending!

Still going well at 50%. This sounds like a good show. Did it end as good as it started?

Yep....junked Clovis-First.
Charlie is probably foaming at the mouth to get to it.

We'll have to discuss it. We never had much of one about Toba.
BTW, Digit, are you getting these shows?

Toba is a problem. Could the genetic data be THAT wrong?

After all that hassle to download the Toba episode, I've yet to watch it. Can't seem to find the time, and I'm still chugging through F/T's OOA links.
As far as preClovis Americans, aren't we pretty much waiting for the fat lady to sing? The Solutrean line has more holes than can be ignored but I thnk very few people are believing in Clovis first anymore. Its not a question of were they here, what is lacking, IMO is a viable explanation of how or when they got here.

This program holds out for boats.

I originally bought in to the idea that the genetic bottleneck was caused by Toba, but I'm unsure any more. 75,000 yrs. ago humans and chimpanzees lived in the same environment. But the chimps did not bottleneck, and neither did other animals.
Today one troupe of chimps have more genetic diversity than is seen in all of mankind. The same is true of the Neandertals. DNA tests show a wide genetic diversity among them after Toba.
Something is wrong with this theory I think.

The fat lady is clearing her throat I think. The solutrean hypothesis is one of those very intriguing ideas, but I would bet that it won't pan out. But the similarities are incredible, even down to the use of red ochre.
