fearless animals

i envy your experience in Antarctica, RS, re the fearless animals, as well as the visit.
A friend recently told me of an experience in the Galapagos, where he
couldn't help touching a bird on her nest....just to see how tame she was...
it didn't seem to bother her.
he also had an experience of carrying on a "conversation" in baby talk with
a baby seal, that blew his mind.
somehow I think this all has evolutionary significance, maybe an overlooked factor.
