The book was written by Harold Robbins KB and Nevada Smith featured in it, then he was used in another story explaining how he ended up working for the guy in the Carpet Baggers.
The time scale gives you a clue to my age!
But maybe not as I've also read Shakespeare.

So - based on your comments I would age you just this side of Shakespeare assuming room temperature - 390 years old? :?

I read this Harold Robbins novel many years ago:

He was a prolific writer in the 60's and had good success.

Also I saw "Nevada Smith" the year it was released and several times afterward. It was a decent but predictable western; daring in its day, but mundane by today's standard of entertainment.

Actually I saw Nevada Smith too when it first came out. Pretty good movie. Liked it especially in the coral fight scene - nice! With the guys own knife - :D Steve McQueen was a good actor tho - don't think I ever saw any of his movies I didn't like.

Sorry to disappoint you Rich. I didn't say I read it when it came out. That was before I was born. (by a few years)

McQueen did several great movies---Magnificient Seven--Bulliet--Great Excape---Had cancer--went to Mexico for homey treatment---died. His wife wrote a book--he had as many as 9 girls in his room in France filming Le Mans or Grand Prix, whichever, when she opened the door. His answer--Why the hell not, you are only famous for a short while, get as much nookie as you can !!!! Have to agree

Brought up the subject of foreign influence on the Mayas architecture, which differed 3000000 % from the other hunter/gather tribes north and south of them at a Mensa meeting. They did not know what the hell I was talking about, Went back to their stupid puzzles. If the hostess was not so cute--would just go and have a beer.

My wife asked me why I hadn't joined Mensa, what you've just explained is the reason.
High IQs and nothing being done with it.
