I would not trust them at all.

That's really true and I'm usually very skeptical when Atlantisfound.com announces they have found Atlantis or UFOvisitor.com announces proof of UFOs.

But, I wouldn't expect the pope to announce that the body has been found, either. That would have to come from someone who is not a believer.

So, it is best to simply check out the evidence and see what they have to show.

IF Bigfoot exists or existed it would be anthropological, not archaeological.

I must say, Frank's gone very quiet.

Ain't that the truth! Remember Saddam's weapons of mass destruction? Powell's infamous speech at the UN? There wasn't a news channel or paper on the face of the earth that didn't cover those at great length. Saddam's weapons of mass destruction started a full-scale war, for god's sake! They were the official 'casus belli' (reason for war), for cryin' out loud. And where were they in the end...?

There's clearly two camps, the ones desperate to make sure this is taken as a hoax, and the MSM that is clearly waiting things out. Only responsible thing to do is wait and see.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/08/15/bigfoo ... index.html

A pair of Georgia men faced more than a half-hour of skeptical questions from reporters Friday as they defended their claim that they stumbled upon the body of Bigfoot while hiking in a remote North Georgia forest.
The thawed body of a creature reputed to be Bigfoot reportedly weighs more than 500 pounds.

Introduced by a publicist and beside a man who promoted what turned out to be a fake Bigfoot discovery in 1995, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer repeatedly said that their claim is not a hoax and that scientific analysis will prove it.

"We were not looking for Bigfoot. ... We wouldn't know what we were doing if we did," said Whitton, a police officer on leave after being shot in the hand while making an arrest. "I didn't believe in Bigfoot at the time. ... But you've got to come to terms with it and realize you've got something special. And that's what it was."

The men say they were hiking in early June when they discovered the body of a 7-foot-7, 500-pound half-ape, half-human creature near a stream. They also claim to have spotted about three similar living creatures -- and showed reporters video stills of what they say is one of those creatures shadowing them through the woods.

If memory serves...which at my age is always dubious....one complaint which science always has for Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti etc is "how come we never find a body?"

Maybe they should wait and see a while in case they just did?

the big foot researchers say that we never find a body because they are social creatures that will take the dead away,

I will also wait to see what comes from it,

but I have seen these people do things that make it not surprising if they made the entire thing and have put DNA on the "body" to make the results look like something.
with all the reports I have seen, I am open to an undiscovered very shy creature, but I just don't think these people have found anything.

That's the funny thing aout DNA...it identifies. Thus "putting DNA on a body" isn't going to work out real well for them because the DNA will belong to something. It isn't something you can whip up in a lab insert 1 part human 2 parts ape :D put it in a blender and mix it up. I did see the Monster Quest show where they tested the Bigfoot hair. THAT was most interesting.

We humans share 99% of our DNA with Chimps and Bonobos, 90% of our DNA with Mice and 33% with Daffodils. Think of the difference that 1% and 10% makes.

I wonder what science will make of this should it all prove out. Surely the creature will have human DNA it's the other bit that they likely won't be able to identify that will prove the most intersting.
