No word of her demise on
Wikipedia.
Have never been a fan of her work maybe it's time to visit the library and give it another peek.

The tinder pot looks similar to something I picked up in Texas while visiting Charlie Hatchett's site.
'll have to see if I can get a picture of it for comparison.
I'm guessing that some dried grass goes in the hole and then a stick is twisted to cause it to ignite.
The rest of the photos are interesting in that quite a few appear to be broken (and thus discarded?) I saw a couple which were possibly bone although the pictures went by too fast to be certain and a number showed unquestionable flaking. Dating would be interesting to know.
A couple looked on first glance to be merely stones although it is possible that they were used to quarry smaller stones which were then worked into tools. The display was too quick for much more than a guess.

Roy.
i'm pretty sure she is. The rumors of her death stem from the gap between the publishing of the 4th and 5th books. (1990 and 2002).
My guess is she is just taking her sweet time. It probably has something to do with grandkids hehe.
Just found this:
Later that evening, the French government honored Jean with the "Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" (Officer of the Order of Arts and Literature)
