Pretty much. In addition, major population centers and cities began in South America and were spreading north through Central America when Europeans showed up to party. Development went from south to north, not the other way around. North America was sparsely populated compared to South and Central America in 1491 (re: Charles Mann).In the meantime, the well documented finds from Brazil are ignored entirely.
