Expulsion??????
It's like the motto for the New York State Lottery, "You gotta be in it to win it."
The Israelites were never in it.

I have to agree. Bible leaning adventurers spent a lot of time trying to find physical evidence of the exodus in the late 19th century. To date not one scrap of archaeological evidence has appeared to support the migration of a siginificant chunk of Egypt's population wandering around the desert fo 40 years.

Hey min, so where did the Hebrews come from? (I can't wait to hear this one!)

Read The Bible Unearthed by Finkelstein and Silberman.
It will answer all your questions.

Of course min, you don't know what the book says, not surprising, or are you just embarrassed to say what it is? Oh come on min, we won't laugh (too loud).

Min, I've now read enough about that book to know it's b.s., the Bible has been the primary roadmap for archaeological endeavours in the Middle East for three hundred years, you're out o' luck on that one.

Actually, in most cases where ancient texts have been used as roadmaps for excavation, it has led to misinterpretation and error. Heinrich Schleimann is a perfect example, both at Troy and Mycenae. He found something, but not what he wanted to believe he found. See John Romer, History of Archaeology part III "Digging by the Book". People that begin excavating from a myth generally find what they want to see because their objectivity is compromised.

Ah, but Mycenae and Troy are not mentioned in the Bible directly, try again.

That's about what I expected from you.
The bible is a load of crap and has been constantly disproven.

True.
Homer apparently had a few facts going for him. Unlike the bible.

Never at this board, nor anywhere else, I guess that's just an oversight on your part.

Why do you capitalize Homer, but not "bible?"

maybe it was because the finds at Hisarlik proved the Iliad to have factual references , where as the lack of finds for the exodus........

of course this depends upon the kind of evidence they are looking for. read current biblical arch. approx. pg 80 and you will see that the israelites would not have left any 'israelite' cultural evidence because it would have been impossible for them to produce any till after the conquest and settlement.
thus finkelstein and his buddies (his book being-- i posted a link to a well written review of that tome but no one commented on it as it shows finkelstein's gross errors) come to false conclusions because they limit their theories to the evidence not the facts. (this is not CSI here, the physical evidence doesn't tell the whole tale)

Congratulations.
You picked up on that a lot quicker than arch ever did.
