By the way, Marduk, the "Phoenicians" called themselves the Kena'anu, ouch.

GV - every discussion that gets started on this board gets twisted to your born-again, 3,000 year old ice age, atlantis crap. I'm sick to death of it. If you are ever discussing history and archaeology I'll be glad to jump in, but all I see out of you is myths and unsupportable lunacy and I see it in every stinking thread. I'm fed up with wading through your crap to get to anything useful.

I've been talking about written and archaeological evidence, join in anytime, we're talking about evidence, you can interpret the evidence according to the uniformitarian/darwinian model, if you're convinced of its veracity, but I for one don't see that model with any explanatory power, different strokes for different folks.

I don't know that those tribes were big navigators, inland people, the Jebusites, and the Philistines were not of Canaan, but of clan Misraim, another branch from Khem/Cham/Chem/Chronos, I don't know that there were any major ancient ports in the Gaza area, but one would think they would have done some navigating, or at least hitched rides with the Kena'anu.

Today's Palestinians are descended from the Kena'anu, or Canaanites, a loose collection of peoples which included the Phoenicians, the Philistines and the Jebusites

lolol Jim
Gaza is a port city
like doh
really do some actual research instead of using your faulty imagination and get back to me huh
this is a farce

Where is the evidence that the Philistines were bigtime navigators, oh farcical one?

Posted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 11:32 am
by marduk
there isn't any
but thats the point Jim
which is why claiming the phoenecians called themselves specifically the Kena anu is a total misnomer
its just the old way of saying canaanite

its like me saying that the ancient britons were ancient sailors because the celts had boats
an overgeneralisation when there were more than just the celts making up the britons

They called themselves Kena'anu, go google it.

I did
and Kena Anu means canaanite
it doesn't mention anywhere that the canaanites circumnavigated the earth during the 1500bce ice age
perhaps you can provide a link to where it says thats true from an actual scholarly source
it is after all you whos attempting to prove it
so the onus is on your for evidence
and Jim
just because you say something doesnt make it so
so anything you say in this forum is completely laughable without links as evidence anyway
hahaha

Yes, they were the Kena'anu (Phoenicians), and how far did they sail, Marduk?

by marduk
they were canaanites
get over yourself
they were local inshore traders
wheres the evidence that they ever sailed out sight of land ?
you'd just need one canaanite ship
and you havent got that much have you

The Phoenicians called themselves Kena'anu, do you doubt that they were navigators in great ships?

Hey Marduk, why'd it take, according to you, over 4,000 years for the Kena'anu to learn how to build ships from the nearby Caucasus tribes?

its funny isn'tit that the bible calls the Phoenecians the Sidonians and the Ponnim
so apparently god who dictated the bible to moses didn't know they were called the Kena Anu
of course by the fact that you have so far been unable to provide so much as one link for so much as one line of your fallacious laughable diatribe i guess you can't back what you're saying either
unless of course you have a better source than God
so what is it Jim
youre talking shit (as per usual) or you know more than god does
