we can start doing some thinking of our own.
I have!

Thanks Beags. I will have a look at that research.

But in the meantime ... as you and I have an opposing belief in something that's yet to be proved, why don't we have a little wager?

Assuming that this is proven one way or the other in our lifetimes, what do you say to £50.00 on it (at present day exchange rates of course  )

A word of warning there Ish. People have been taking pot shots at Darwinism for 150 yrs and it's still going strong!

Well, I'm prepared to put my money where my mouth is, Dig!

And as I said to you before, 150 years is nothing. How long did they believe the sun went round the earth?

Sure - but I need to know exactly what the wager is.

Well, we can work out the exact wording between us.

Here's a first offering:

"That the fossilised bones of the common ancestor of both humans and chimps will be found within five years."

The odds of that happening are extremely small. Is that what constitutes proof to you?

According to vedic sources several thousand years.

Well, I find it hard to imagine what else would consititute proof ...but you can make a counter offer more suited to what you believe is likely ....

I may, but I'm going to take a break and have some supper. I'll be back later but you'll probably need to call it a day.

Archaeology can take more than a lifetime. I wouldn't bet on anything to happen in five years. But, we'll talk about it. :)

OK, look forward to talking to you later. :D

This one Ish. You'll note it claims 'several thousand years'.

Oh, I misunderstood you, Dig. I thought you were saying that the Vedics said that the sun went round the earth. I see from this site that what you meant was that they're claiming that they were first with the heliocentric theory. I imagine the Sumerians had it too, though, at the same time.
