Be nice to the nymphs!
Make sure you call the next morning. . . .
They also like chocolate. . . .
Anyways, the basic "motiff" of sorts is a male sky that is . . . um . . . well . . . in "connection" with the female earth, so to write. The usurper deity comes by and separates the two.
Now that is paralleled in the P Creation story--separation of sky from earth--but, frankly, at that stage I think it too far to make either sky or earth "deities."
The other parallel--alluded in the long response above--is YHWH slicing up a sea monster and using it to create the organized world. This was felt to be parallels to the Babylonian mythos--see Marduk--but as Day and others indicate, this parallels the earlier Caananite myth . . . with . . . guess who?
Ba'al.
So the earliest material--"Song of the Sea"--contains strong parallels to give YHWH defeating a "chaos monster" of sorts.
Now, what I find really interesting, is the secularlization of deities in the texts over time. Much of the things that get translated into "the Queen's English" such as "pestilence," and "death" are words that are gods or at least were.
Which brings us all [ZZZzzzZZZzzzzZZZzzz--Ed.] to the point not only were their different conceptions of religions, but the critical point that monotheism is a misnomer for the biblical texts--Hebrew and Greek NT, by the way. What you have is a henotheism--MY god SMITH your puny god!!
Such are very "locative." "MY god HERE . . . Your god . . . THERE!" As I am sure others have discussed in previous threads, part of conquest is "taking" the gods of the conquered in many ways.
Now beer calls. . . .

merely a theory.
on the other hand, on the irish side, we have universal knowledge being dispensed by the act of handling a trout or a salmon.
with the fatal result, on the human side, of camping at "the hawk's well": viz Yeats.
an irish "in da gadda da vida"?
ok.
so what we need to do is categorize the collection of "universal knowledge" comic books.
by location.

aa...and.......
whatabout beowulf killing poor grendel's mom?
well apart from the mesoamerican egyptian and mesopotamian pantheons you'd be rightWell . . . hermaphrodites are not, to my knowlege, common in religious pantheons before Hermaphroditus took a sip from the Fountain of Salmacis, then acted like a prat to the nymph who asked him out for a dinner and an Aristophanic comedy

i read them but lately it is hard to originate and sustain a conversation due to the frolicking few who have messed up a few threads.
(frank doesn't like me using the word 'interloper' so i had to come up with another label)
beagle was right, i am a little tired of going over the same ground again and again. what i have presented in the way of evidence lends credence to the biblical account.
with the few replies that answered my question it can be determined that you are looking for something that will be impossible to find, given the nature of construction projects, machinery and other factors.
we do find evidence up on the mountains but i am convinced that the majority here will reject any evidence brought their way (even if we find out what gopher wood is and produce a piece of the ark to confirm the story). so ask yourselves, why would someone continue topost evidence when the vocal few dismiss it without honest consideration?

are you sure
he might have returned already
the first guy he walks up to and tells he is the saviour is going to call the men in white coats
so i suggest you start checking the mental institutions of the world for likely suspects
should be quite difficult though
theres thousands and thousands of people who claim to be the messiah
including this guy

(no its not Vigo Mortenson)
you'll know when you got the right one though Jim
he'll be the only one who can turn water into wine
not that he'll need it with the high dose anti psychosis drugs they'll be giving him
and what makes you so sure he will be a man anyway
God might have decided to send his only daughter after the cock up that happened last time around
