I can't help you
i don't need your help; you need mine.

but back to the exodus, james long makes a valid point about ignoring Israel's own histories and they are a source that need to be taken into consideration. after all there is little physical evidence other than the Bible and that which lead us to the truth.

i think that rationally one has to accept my hypothesis until the proper evidence is discovered or acknowledged.

Minimalist is not making border-line anti-semitic comments.

Minimalist is not running from reality.

Because "those histories" are contained in that stupid bible which has been proven to be false time and again.

This jerkoff says they're true and you believe him.

not really, if you closely examine the theories and interpretation you would see where they fall short and their 'proof' is just interpretation and not fact.
This jerkoff says they're true and you believe him
please, just because i present a quote or a link does it mean that i have jumped on board with him.

your slanderous descriptions of everyone who opposes you has grown old. at least i use finkelstein's and dever's names and do not insult them by being derogatory.

anyways to get this back on track (for the hundredth time) here is a link to a critique of the film and then jacobovici responds to the critic afterwards.

http://www.bib-arch.org/bswbOOexodusbeware.html
As it turns out, from Manetho and Hecataeus of Abdera to Josephus, ancient writers equated the Exodus with the “Hyksos expulsion” around 1500 B.C.E. Today, Prof. Bimson of Trinity College, England, argues for a similar date, and Prof. Donald Redford of Penn State told me on camera that “Flavius Josephus… sensed what I think is correct [i.e.], that the Hyksos and the Hyksos expulsion is what we’re talking about when we are talking about the Exodus. Every other reconstruction of the Exodus… runs the risk of being accused of an absence of evidence.”
it is interesting to see how he defends himself but again, i have to agree with the critic [in part] and not jacobovici.

I think Hendel's review was accurate and fair. In fact, he probably pulled his punches too much given the outlandish nature of Jacobovici's disinformation.

it would be nice to have a few analyzed to put the whole thing to rest. though i doubt that finding a few chariot wheels beneath the surface of the water would confirm the exodus.

it would make it more probable but the dating would be skewered by the milleniums submerged in water. plus how could we be surre these wheels didn't get there some other way.

i.e. broken axle, drunken driver, other situations, whatever.

i am no fan of ron wyatt and feel he did more damage to the Bible than he helped it. humphreys makes hs theory sound plausible and possible though it would be too hard to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt.

this is an area where politics plays a large part in interpretation and to get the true story and the true evidence would be difficult.
