I did sound like a party was a tough way to go didn't I? Didn't mean it THAT way, but a lot of stuff all at once (like at Christmas) is not the fun it used to be for me. I'd rather spread it out over the year. Plus I was letting Min know that I probably wouldn't be here yet another evening.

OK. There doesn't seem to be a lot of us that get in here in the evening any more. Mostly just the west coast folks. It'll get back to normal soon, whatever normal is.

"Normal" is not a place on this board.

In an episode on St Helena, Simcha does a lot of simple reporting on what Constantine's mother did on her grand tour of the Holy Land. A bit later on, he seems to be giving it to christians who believe in all the so-called 'relics' that she discovered. Not much bite to the episode but that does not stop him from acting like an asshole on occasion.

In the second episode "Who Wrote The Bible" he's back to his habit of getting an expert in, in this case Baruch Halpern, and then arguing with him.

When Halpern tells him that Judeans were illiterate until the 8th century he literally goes back to his Exodus Decoded cave and shows an inscription which he claimed was from the time of Moses but which was already trashed by archaeologists.

In one of the first out-right lies that Simcha can be charged with he states that the Dead Sea Scrolls show that the bible as we have it is an exact copy. It is not.

Finally, he goes back to Gabriel Barkay who found the Silver Scrolls and which are dated to the 7th century...which is 100 years after Halpern said they were illiterate but that does not seem to stop Simcha from pronouncing that he has "proven" that Moses wrote the bible.

God awful shit from this charlatan.

Can't wait to see this one. If he remotely returned to The Exodus Decoded, then he has a lost cause.

Good website - I saved it to Favorites.

Charlatans have a useful function in science, thay take what many think of as dry, acedemic, subject and give it a gloss to turn it into 'entertainment' and, hopefully, a percentage of the audience will be encouraged to go on further.

Beags, Arch reported that the sound did not come through. Did you have a problem like that?

I just checked the original and the sound track is there.

I don't know yet Min, I haven't watched it. I have to go out for some errands but I'll check it now before I go.

Min, I checked "Who wrote..." and the sound is fine. I only watched the first couple of minutes. Arch might want to check the sound on his computer.

Back later.
