better ask charlie about that
he just set himself up as the resident biblical iron expert
Your so full of bologna, Mar. All I did was note the parallels of Genesis 4 and the finds here locally. You've still not provided me with a story/ legend/ myth that accounts for these finds better.
you want a story a legend or a myth ??
whats wrong with the facts now ?
I can't but help think you're missing the point
documentary evidence is all well and good when its actually connected
for most archaeology the only story is that told by the artifacts recovered
and those stories are rarely fictional and never religious in context

what does a city in northern Italy have to do with anything

I don't know about Biblical expertise on Iron, but I do know about steel, and that link refers to 'carburized', in engineering terms that has a very specific meaning. Which is that the the outer layer only of the Iron is converted to steel, this results in a tough metal covered with a hard outer skin, this technique would result in a sword that was superior to Iron in its ability to cut and that was much less brittle than steel. For a sword, with the correct mix of carbon in the Iron, this can be acheived by repeated hammering the cutting edge to consolidate the metal grains.
This was probaly the method of manufacture for early weapons rather than chemical technology.

Everyone, if your even interested, see the PreClovis Iron Smelting thread for the full context of this discussion. Good thing Mar isn't an archeologist. He'd be twisting everything to fit his worldview...i.e.- out of context...tsk, tsk Mar. Not very scientific at all. You'd make a good politician/ club member though. Perhaps you should persue that venue.
Again, for you other peeps, the full debate is at PreClovis Iron Smelting thread.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

that in fact is exactly the opposite of what I just said
you started off by claiming a link between a biblical story from genesis and an palaeontological site (alleged) in Texas
I have been trying to tell you to stick to the facts
are you suggesting that people who are good archaeologists should make up spurious claims to support their evidence
that clearly is Pseudoscience Charlie
the fact that you can't tell the difference says a a lot about your objectivity doesnt it
and like I already said
anyone reading that thread will know that I wasn't twisting anything
what you are attempting now though is known as redaction http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/redaction

All I stated was "I find the parallels between the local evidence and Genesis 4 intriguing". So, WTF...how did you come up with all this other stuff. I feel it may be your strongly religious beliefs. You're a fundy if I ever met one.
i hope hes got a phd actually
hed be a right idiot if all he had was a high school diploma and he was practicing medicine in england
mind you I have met less qualified doctors doing that
in the army
